IS SMOKEY ROBINSON A POET?

I wouldn’t go as far as characterizing Smokey Robinson as “America’s greatest living poet,” as Bob Dylan was apparently falsely said to have done many decades ago. But Smokey’s words have delighted me for at least half a century.
